Dan Brodie to launch new album this March

Melbourne’s Dan Brodie will be launching his brand new album Deep Deep Love on March 17 at the Northcote Social Club. After initially planning the album launch for March 2013, Brodie was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and after postponing the event, took some much-needed time out to undergo treatment. But now he is back and ready to launch the 11-track album, which has received universal praise. Get out and support this two-time ARIA award winner and inspiring musician/person this March.

The Major Bruce Sessions continue with classic Madonna album

Maverick music theatre makers the Present Tense Ensemble are ready to recreate the classic Madonna album Like A Prayer as part of The Major Bruce Sessions at Ruby’s Music Room this March. After selling out the debut performance of The WhitlamsEternal Nightcap, the four remaining shows are going to be good! Don’t miss out!

Alex and The Shy Lashies announce March residency

Melbourne based band Alex and The Shy Lashies have announced two residencies for the whole of March; Saturdays at Old Bar and and Sunday’s at Pure Pop Records.

Since stumbling into Pure Pop Records almost six years ago, Alex Lashlie and his stunning voice have played all over town, even scoring a guest spot on one of Melbourne musical event, Charles Jenkins' Winter Ball 2012. After returning home from touring Europe, Alex & The Shy Lashies was born, featuring Etta Curry and Jeff May. The band have recently released the album Eleven Hours/While You Were Sleeping and will be playing every Saturday night at Old Bar in Fitzroy and every Sunday at Pure Pop Records with some very special guests. Doral Fins announce new single and first live show

After dropping their debut track ‘Nothing Left To Hide’ at the end of 2013, Melbourne’s Dorsal Fins have been in the studio finishing tracks for the debut EP and getting ready for their first ever live show! The electronic outfit, fronted by Saskwatch's Liam McGorry, will be launching their debut 12” Gripless EP at Melbourne's Shebeen Bandroom on Thursday April 3rd. Support will be coming from Jacky Winter, Martin King (DJ) and Stu Mackenzie (DJ).

Kate Crowley launches album

Melbourne songstress Kate Crowley will be launching her highly anticipated second album titled Measured In Moons on Saturday 15th March. Crowley’s unique folk sound and fresh take on story telling has earned her rave reviews of her live show. The album launch will take place at the unique and fitting Montsalvant Barn Gallery in Eltham. Supporting will be an array of special guests, including April Maze, Michael Waugh, Rob Moss, Coen Dixon, Daniela Lucchetti.

The Smith Street Band announce Push On Fest!

Following the cancelation of the all ages event Push Over, Melbourne good guys The Smith Street Band have announced a replacement in Push On Fest. The event will be taking place on the Labour Day public holiday March 10 (when Push Over would have been) at the Phoenix Youth Centre. The lineup features many Push Over bands and some new inclusions. Tickets are $20+BF from www.thesmithstreetband.oztix.com.au or $25 on the door. Kanye West announces second (and final) Melbourne show

Kanye West has announced a second Melbourne show ahead of his highly anticipated Australian tour this May. ‘The Yeezus Tour' will now be hitting Melbourne on both Tuesday May 6 and Wednesday May 7 at Rod Laver Arena. This is the final show announcements for the tour, so be quick and don’t miss out. Tickets are on sale now via www.livenation.com.au.

Iain Archibald band hit Melbourne

Melbounre’s own Iain Archibald is getting ready to wow Melbourne audiences with his band at Musicland in Fawknew this weekend. The band will be supporting Kevin Borich Express. The talented young musician has been making a name for himself on the alternative/country scene in the last few years. And 2014 is shaping up to be a big year for him, after releasing his debut EP late last year.
